Dune Scissors
Privacy policy
Your data, how it is used and your rights.
Updated: 5 October 2026.
Who uses your data?
TEMA, which operates the Dune Scissors website, is responsible for the processing described here. You can contact the company at Pôle d’Excellence Jean Louis, 309 Via Nova, 83600 Fréjus, France, or via our contact form, specifying “Personal data”.
What data is collected and how is it used?
- Contact, purchasing through a partner, trials or offers: your identity, contact details, salon and the information in your request, including your chosen model and partner. This data enables us to respond and prepare the service you have requested, on the basis of pre-contractual steps taken at your request. Other enquiries are handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in maintaining relationships with professionals.
- Accounts, registering scissors and after-sales service: your identity, professional contact details, login information, serial number and request history. This processing enables us to deliver the services requested and meet applicable legal obligations.
- Dune News: your email address and, where provided, your first and last name. Subscribing is based on your optional consent, independently of any contact, login or service request.
- Operation and security: technical connection data, IP address and records needed to protect forms and accounts. Our legitimate interest is to prevent misuse and maintain the service.
- Analytics: with your consent, Matomo measures pages viewed and certain interactions, such as clicks or successful form submissions. Free-text fields, email addresses and serial numbers are not included in these events.
Required fields are identified in the forms. Without this information, we cannot process the corresponding request. Optional fields and a Dune News subscription are not conditions for accessing other services.
Who can access it?
Authorised TEMA staff, the partner concerned where your request requires it, and our technical service providers access only the data needed for their work: hosting, maintenance, email, form protection and audience measurement.
The website is hosted by Scaleway and emails are sent by Amazon Web Services, in the Paris region. AWS is an international provider; its data protection commitments and the mechanisms governing international transfers are described in its GDPR compliance centre. You can ask us for information about the safeguards that apply to your data.
When you follow a link to a social network or external website, its own privacy policy applies.
How long is it kept?
Retention depends on the purpose: processing and follow-up until your request is closed; account management throughout the service relationship; and traceability of your scissors while an entitlement to servicing remains available or a service case is ongoing. After this period, only documents needed to meet a legal obligation or establish a right are retained for the corresponding period. Accounting documents are subject to a statutory retention period of ten years.
Dune News subscription data is used while you remain subscribed. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawal ends its use for new mailings; information needed to respect and demonstrate your choice may be retained separately.
Technical records are kept for as long as necessary to detect and handle incidents; a record relating to an incident may be kept for the duration of its investigation. Detailed analytics data is retained to analyse visits and journeys, then deleted or aggregated so that individual visitors cannot be identified. You can ask us about the retention periods that apply to your data.
Cookies and privacy choices
Necessary cookies support the website, login and the storage of your choices. Matomo analytics is activated only after your consent. Declining analytics does not prevent you from using the website. You can review your choice below; withdrawing consent does not invalidate processing previously carried out with your agreement.
Exercising your rights
Under the conditions set out in the GDPR, you can request access to, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability of your data. You can object to processing based on legitimate interest and withdraw consent for processing that relies on it. You also have the right to give instructions about your data after your death.
Submit your request via our contact form or by post to the address above. If there is reasonable doubt, we may ask for information to verify your identity. The usual response period is one month, extendable under the conditions of the GDPR. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL.
