The Dune Scissors story

Scissors designed around the hairdresser’s technique.

Founded in France in 2009, Dune Scissors grew from a simple ambition: to offer professional hairdressers scissors that combine precision, ergonomics, performance and durability, at a fair price.

Since 2009, we have designed demanding cutting tools, tested in the field and approved by hairdressers. Today, Dune Scissors supports professionals in more than ten countries across Europe.

Our craftsmanship

Steel and sharpening: at the heart of our craftsmanship

Edge retention depends on the quality of the steel and the precision of its sharpening. At Dune, we select steels for their balance of strength, precision and cutting feel.

The HRC rating measures steel hardness. Dune collections use steels from 59 to 62 HRC, each matched to a particular use and cutting experience.

Forged 440C steel — 59 HRC

For Ambition: a balance of edge retention and resistance to oxidation.

Japanese SUS440C steel — 60 HRC

For Origin: precise, consistent cutting in everyday work.

Cobalt-enriched forged VG-10 steel — 62 HRC

For Signature: a smooth cutting feel and good wear resistance.

Sharpening: the craft that makes a difference

Our hollow-ground blades have convex edges sharpened by hand. This work helps the blades cross precisely and smoothly, reduces friction and brings softness to the cut.

The edge supports your technique, from blunt cutting to thinning.

Designed for hairdressers

Your scissors’ journey continues after purchase.

The Origin and Signature collections include one complimentary sharpening and full servicing intervention, with no time limit for claiming it.

Carried out by Atelier Dune in Fréjus, this intervention may include sharpening, tip reshaping, blade adjustment and the replacement of wear parts where needed, depending on the condition of your scissors.

Our aim: to preserve your tool’s precision and the pleasure of cutting over time.
