The “quality control” seal on the handles of your scissors guarantees that the final quality control was performed in our workshop in France.

Here are some suggestions to preserve the life of your scissors as long as possible.

CHECK THE BLADE TENSION

When you cut hair, your naturally put pressure on the blades, which then loosens the blade pressure adjustment screw. 

The scissors become loose, the hair bends when you cut it, and that impacts your blades. Be careful not to tighten the screw all at once.  You might crush the washer and damage the system.

We suggest that you check the tension before starting your workday by doing this: 

If the blades close suddenly, you need to tighten the tension. Insufficient tension damages the blades.

If during your work you notice a decrease in the cutting efficiency, you should do this again.

ADJUST THE BLADE PRESSURE

Use the adjustment key and turn it clockwise, one notch at a time (never tighten it all at once or you may crush the washer under the screw).

Perfect tension (see diagram B) assures a flexible opening and closing for soft cuts and blade precision.

PROTECT YOUR SCISSORS

When you purchase a pair of Dune scissors, a 3-in-1 holster or bag is included, depending on the model.

You need to protect your scissors by storing them carefully. That’s why we give you this gift.

Never put your unprotected scissors in a drawer or basket with other metallic objects (clippers, hair pins, other scissors.) This seriously damages the blades with micro-shocks and the interaction of the steel.

A 3-in-1 holster is included in the €149 range plus tax.  A bag is included in the €99 range plus tax.

NEVER CUT ANYTHING EXCEPT HUMAN HAIR

NEVER DIP YOUR BLADES IN BLEACH

If you use antibacterial clothes or sprays, wipe your blades afterwards with a soft, dry cloth. These products can be extremely corrosive and may damage your blades.

 

SERVICE WARRANTY

1 sharpening/checkup for an unlimited time period is included with the purchase of a pair of scissors in the €149 range plus tax.

This includes: sharpening, checking the tips, adjusting the blade curves, correcting points of friction, straightening the handles, checking and possibly replacing parts like the bumpers and the adjustment screw.

You can return your scissors to your distributor who will then send them to us, or you can send them to us directly.

To send scissors under warranty, there is a charge of €15* for shipping (you can send several pairs from the same salon with this shipment).

We advise that you send your scissors via Colissimo. Payment for shipping fees can be made by credit card upon receipt of your scissors in our workshop or by check made out to TEMA.

Turnaround time, upon receipt of your package at our workshops, is approximately 15 days (including return shipping time).
